Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture

Updated: Apr 22, 2023

FACIAL REJUVENATION

Acupuncture for cosmetic rejuvenation, also known as facial acupuncture or acupuncture facelift, is a holistic approach to enhance the appearance of the face by inserting fine needles into specific points on the face and body. The goal of this technique is to stimulate the flow of nutrients and blood to the face, which can promote healthy skin and a more youthful appearance.

Acupuncture for cosmetic rejuvenation has gained popularity in recent years as an alternative to more invasive cosmetic procedures such as Botox and fillers. The benefits of this technique may include reducing fine lines and wrinkles, improving skin texture and tone, increasing collagen production, and promoting overall relaxation and wellbeing.

Some of the potential benefits of facial acupuncture may include:

  • Smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles

  • Reducing the appearance of age spots and hyperpigmentation

  • Improving skin tone and texture

  • Boosting collagen production for firmer, more supple skin

  • Reducing puffiness and under-eye bags

  • Promoting overall relaxation and stress relief

GUA SHA FACIAL MASSAGE

Gua sha face is a technique that involves using a small, smooth instrument to gently massage and scrape the skin on the face and neck. The instrument is typically made from materials such as jade or rose quartz, and is used to apply gentle pressure and friction to the skin in a specific pattern.

The goal of gua sha face is to stimulate circulation, promote lymphatic drainage, and encourage the release of tension and toxins from the muscles and connective tissues of the face. This can help to reduce puffiness, improve skin tone and texture, and promote a more youthful, radiant appearance.

During a gua sha face treatment, the skin is typically first prepared with a facial oil to help the instrument glide smoothly over the skin. The instrument is then used to gently massage and scrape the skin in a series of upward and outward strokes, following a specific pattern across the face and neck.

Cosmetic acupuncture does NOT give you a wrinkle-free, flat and frozen appearance that you may see from a surgical face lift, botox injections, and fillers. If you have years of deep skin wrinkles, acupuncture will not completely erase them. If dark sunspots or melasma are your main concern, acupuncture will lighten them but not erase them. If you are in your 50s and want to look like you are in your 30s, then facial acupuncture is not be your best choice. Instead, cosmetic facial acupuncture is a natural and healthy alternative or addition to Western medical procedures.

It's important to note that while acupuncture and gua sha for cosmetic rejuvenation can offer potential benefits, it is not a replacement for a healthy diet and lifestyle habits that support skin health. Call to schedule a free consultation.
