FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does acupuncture hurt?
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin, sterile needles into various points on the body. In general, acupuncture is painless. Occasionally, people may feel a brief stinging sensation and/or a dull sensation as a normal part of the experience.
Is acupuncture safe?
Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years and has been proven to be safe. We only use disposable, sterile needles, and we practice safe and clean needling techniques.

Are there any side effects to acupuncture?
Most patients experience the positive, relaxing benefits of acupuncture. Occasionally, some patients may experience fatigue, slight discoloration and tenderness at the needle site, lightheadedness, temporary worsening of symptoms, and emotional release. As you proceed with treatment, some of these temporary side effects will lessen or go away all together. We encourage you to call us after your treatment if you have any concerns.
What if I don't want acupuncture?
Not everyone wants acupuncture especially children. Acupressure in conjunction with applied kinesiology and/or NAET (Allergy Elimination Technique) are very effective treatment options for those who do not want acupuncture. Nutritional and herbal therapies are also available.
